The Site

This brownfield site forms part of the primary shopping area of Hamsey Green local centre. It consists of the former Good Companions pub and car park, along with two vacant properties 247 & 249 Tithepit Shaw Lane. Lidl’s proposals are in-line with the current Croydon Local Plan (2018) allocation for this site, which is identified for mixed-use development, consisting of retail and provision of 8-24 new homes.

The site crosses the boundary between Croydon Council and Tandridge District Council, which means that planning applications will need to be submitted to both local authorities.
